Pilgrim 6 : Pen y Fan, Brecon Beacons
Pilgrim 6 is a 32 km mountain event with approximately 1800 m of elevation, held on Pen y Fan. The course requires three ascents of the peak while using six different routes so that no single path is repeated.
There are two entry categories: an unweighted Classic Fell Race and a Weighted category in which participants carry a 16 kg bergan or day sack. The bergan or day sack must be supplied by the participant and will be weighed at registration; the weight must include water and food.
The route will not be waymarked. A GPX file and a map will be issued before the event and participants are expected to navigate between control points themselves. Safety marshals will be positioned at control points and participants must make themselves known at each control point so organisers can confirm completion of all three ascents. A water station is listed near Story Arms.
Minimum age for entry is 16 years. Entry fee information is published and entries are time-limited. T shirts will be available for purchase at registration at a reduced cost. Dogs are strictly not permitted on the course.
Participants should arrive prepared with appropriate equipment and a high level of fitness and navigation ability for unmarked mountain terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
