Beacons Ultra, Marathon and Half 2026
The event takes place on 7 November 2026 in and around Talybont On Usk, Powys, with Henderson Hall as the listed venue. It comprises three race distances that start and finish in the town and run on mixed terrain including trail, mountain, canal and road sections. Climatic conditions in mid November can vary.
Distances and brief course notes:
- 49 mile Ultra: two 23 mile loops with an out-and-back to Pen y Fan.
- 26 mile Marathon: single loop of the classic Ultra route with a quick trip up Pen y Fan.
- 13 mile Half Marathon: route east of Talybont taking in Tor Y Foel and the reservoir.
The published total elevation gains are 2,258 metres for the Ultra, 1,319 metres for the Marathon and 543 metres for the Half Marathon. The Ultra is described as a mixed trail and mountain run around the Brecon Beacons. The Marathon follows a single loop of the same classic route, and the Half Marathon remains local to the Talybont area.
Entries open 1 December 2025 and close 1 November 2026. Minimum age for entry is 18. Entry fees listed are £80 for the Ultra, £60 for the Marathon and £40 for the Half Marathon.
