SATURN - Rocky at 50 Run
This event is a 7 hour time challenge celebrating the 50th anniversary of the film Rocky. The format allows participants to control their own distance by completing multiple laps within the time limit. The minimum distance required to be an official finisher is 3 km.
The course is located along the River Thames in Staines-upon-Thames. It consists of a lap that is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles), though this may be adjusted to a 5.28 km (3.28 mile) loop depending on the ground conditions. The terrain is flat and utilizes well-made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Standard road shoes are suitable for this route.
Participants can choose to complete various distances including:
- 3 km
- 5 km
- Half Marathon (3 laps)
- Marathon (6 laps)
- 50 km
- Ultra Marathon (7 or more laps)
An aid station is positioned at the start and finish of each lap, offering a selection of sweet and savoury snacks, fruit, and vegan options. All finishers receive a themed medal and a goody bag, with a specific vegan goody bag available. Runners completing a half marathon distance or further are also eligible for distance-specific pins.
