Event overview

The Chiltern Hills 100K is a 100K ultra marathon with 1800m+ of elevation held on 9 May 2026. The event is limited to 250 runners and has a minimum entry age of 20. Registration is £152 (£150 for affiliated runners). The race is TRA licensed and held under UKA rules, and it is an UTMB World Series index race. Navigation is marked and the event uses open GPS tracking. The maximum time allowed for the course is 18 hours. The event base is Chesham Guides Headquarters in Lowndes Park, Chesham.

Course and support

The route follows an anticlockwise loop from Chesham and passes landmarks including Hastoe, the Ashridge Estate, Little Gaddesden, Ivinghoe Beacon to Aldbury on The Ridgeway, Tring Park, Wendover, Coombe Hill, Whiteleaf Hill, Bledlow Ridge, Hampden and Great Missenden before returning to Chesham. There are six checkpoints: Hastoe (14km and 41.4km), Little Gaddesden (28km), Whiteleaf Hill (57.8km), Bledlow Ridge Village Hall (75.3km) and Little Hampden (88km). Checkpoints provide water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration products (pre-mixed electrolyte drink, gels, chews), crisps, sweets, pre-made sandwiches, flapjacks and fresh fruit. Hot drinks and water are available at 44km, 60km and 75km. Runners must carry required kit for the whole race, including a mobile phone with emergency number, route GPX, at least 0.5L hydration, waterproof jacket, extra layers, head torch with spare battery, basic first aid, reusable cup and a payment method.
