Saturn Too - The Dashing Dog Charity Run
This is a 7 hour time challenge held at Dare Valley Country Park. Runners choose how many laps to complete on a marked loop of well maintained footpaths with countryside views. The course is described as suitable for a road trainer and includes 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap.
Charitable giving is built into the event. A £2 surcharge per race will be donated in full to local dog rehoming charities. There is an optional £3 donation for a pin that the organiser will match, turning each pin purchase into £6 for charity. Additionally, 10% of race profits will be donated to these charities.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a goody bag; a vegan goody bag option is available. Distance pins are awarded for half marathon distance or greater, including Half Marathon, Mega Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins. An aid table and drinks are placed at the start and finish of each lap with a selection of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items.
Facilities at the venue include toilets, a cafe near race HQ, and free parking. There is an unsupervised bag drop area. Bone conducting headphones only are allowed. Entrants are limited to 150. Minimum age is 12 years. Runners over 45 km must be 20 or older; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. Transfers and deferrals incur small fees.
