Event Overview
The SARR Turkey Trot is an annual walking and running event held in San Antonio, Texas. Hosted by the San Antonio RoadRunners, the race takes place at The Rim Trailhead on Vance Jackson Road. The event offers participants various ways to participate on Thanksgiving morning, with proceeds benefiting local charitable efforts.
Distance Options
Participants can choose from several in-person and virtual categories:
- 4-Miler: A chip-timed competitive race.
- 2-Miler: A shorter distance for runners and walkers.
- Kids Pumpkin Dash: A quarter-mile dash for children aged 10 and under.
- Virtual 4-Miler: A remote participation option for the four-mile distance.
- Virtual 2-Miler: A remote participation option for the two-mile distance.
Participant Information
All finishers receive a medal. Those registered for the 4-Miler or 2-Miler receive a long-sleeve tee or a hoodie, available in youth and adult sizes up to 3X. Shirts are not guaranteed for those who register during race week. Awards are presented specifically to the top finishers of the chip-timed 4-Miler race. Children aged 10 and under who wish to be eligible for awards must be registered for the 4-Miler event.
Charitable Impact
The event partners with Street2Feet, an organization that promotes health for individuals experiencing homelessness in San Antonio. From every paid 2-miler and 4-miler registration, 5 dollars is donated to the charity partner. Participants also have the option to provide additional donations during the registration process.
