El Taco Loco - Land Heritage Institute
El Taco Loco is a trail running event on November 14, 2026 at the Land Heritage Institute near San Antonio, Texas. The event is limited to 500 runners and offers multiple individual distances, relay and ruck divisions.

The course uses mainly single-track trails with soft footing and loose gravel. Routes pass through open meadows and run along the Medina River. Loop formats are used for several distances.
Aid stations: multiple full aid stations are stocked with drinks, sodas, sweets, salty snacks, prepared foods (for example quesadillas and soups), fruit, and basic medical supplies. NSAIDs are not provided at medical stations. The event operates a cupless aid policy; aid stations do not supply disposable cups. Drop bags are collected for the main aid station and transported to other aid locations.
Support and logistics: pacers are permitted under specific race rules for the longer distances. Parking at the park requires a $10 park entry fee per person; children 12 and under are free. Tent and car camping are allowed and included with park entry. Race apparel is provided with shirts for most distances and hoodies for the longest events. Finishers receive a taco and will receive metal awards; awards include top placings by gender categories including male, female and non-binary.
Volunteer shifts range from 4 to 8 hours; volunteers receive park entry, a camping area, race merchandise, a provided meal, and registration incentives for future events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
