The Sarah Strong 5K and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run takes place on September 26, 2026, in downtown Elkhart, Indiana. The event starts and finishes at Bicentennial Park, located at 100 N. Elkhart Ave.

- 1 mile Kids Fun Run
Packet pickup is planned for the day before at a location to be determined and also at the race location on race day. Registration opens April 1, 2026; the 5K registration period closes April 6, 2026, and the kids run registration closes April 5, 2026. Registration fees listed are $15.00 for the 5K and $5.00 for the kids run.
Participants in the 5K may run or walk the distance as they choose. Strollers are permitted on the course; dogs are not allowed because of liability restrictions. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in each age division and awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. In the kids run, all participants receive an award.
The Bicentennial Park lot will be closed for the race start and finish. Additional parking is available across the street at Hacienda and at Beacon Health & Fitness. Proceeds benefit Passionately Purple, a local foundation that assists families whose loved ones are battling cancer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
