Sand Hollow Run : event overview
The Sand Hollow Run is a 5K and 10K event at Sand Hollow Reservoir in Hurricane, Utah on May 16, 2026. The run uses the same course as the Sand Hollow Triathlon. The venue features red sandstone and deep turquoise water views. The course includes elevation changes and a hill before the finish. The event is described as family-friendly.
Course, aid stations and logistics
Both courses begin at the north end of Transition and follow the chute out to Lakeside Drive and the Dam. The 5K follows the Dam for about 1 mile, then 0.5 mile on paved road to the Sprint turnaround and returns the same way. The 10K follows the Dam for about 1 mile, then 2 miles on paved road to the Olympic turnaround and returns the same way.
Aid stations are located approximately every mile and are stocked with water and Gatorade. Fluids are provided in cups, and aid stations can refill personal water bottles. Participants are advised to stay on the water side of Lakeside Drive because the road will not be closed to traffic.
Packet pick-up is available the day before at the St. George Running Center and on race day at Sand Hollow State Park. Event features include USAT sanctioning, measured and clearly marked courses, chip timing, gender-specific participant shirts, and wooden finisher medals.
