South Shields Harriers Sand Dancer Race Series 2026
The Sand Dancer Race Series takes place in South Shields on 10 May 2026 and is presented by South Shields Harriers & Athletics Club. The event holds a UK Athletics licence number 2026-30149 and includes races for children, juniors and seniors.
Race categories:
- Minor race for ages 2 to 11 years.
- Junior race for ages 12 years and over.
- Senior multi-terrain race of about 10 km, for ages 16 years and over.
Race numbers are collected on the day from Gypsies Green Stadium (NE33 2JH) from 9.00am. The race start is outside the Sand Dancer pub on the promenade, a short walk from Gypsies Green. On-the-day registration is available subject to availability; published on-the-day fees apply: £5 minor/junior, £23 affiliated senior, £25 unaffiliated senior. Transfers of numbers for the senior 10 km race are permitted up to 8 May.
All senior participants receive a medal, a running buff and refreshments. Junior and minor finishers receive a medal and refreshments. Cash prizes apply for age category winners and for first, second and third places in the 10 km multi-terrain race only. Headphones are not permitted under UK Athletics rules; bone-conducting devices are allowed. No refunds or deferrals are available if an entrant cannot participate or if the event is cancelled.
