Event Overview
The SG Petch Sunderland City Runs take place over two days in May. It started as a 10 km event in 2011. The event now includes multiple distances: a half marathon, a 10 km, a 5 km on Saturday evening, and the Active Sunderland Big 3 km.
Races and Course
The event offers several race options:
- A half marathon on Sunday, with a minimum age of 17.
- A 10 km on Sunday, with a minimum age of 15.
- A 5 km on Saturday evening, described as fast and flat, with a minimum age of 11.
- An Active Sunderland Big 3 km on Sunday, organized by Sunderland City Council.
The course is described as traffic-free and picturesque. The 5 km route includes the new Keel Crossing footbridge.
Additional Information
The event starts and finishes at Keel Square in Sunderland. All finishers receive a medal and a goody bag. The entry fee includes a secure baggage drop and electronic chip timing.
