SG Petch Sunderland City Runs : overview
SG Petch Sunderland City Runs takes place in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear on 16 and 17 May 2026. The event is a closed-road running weekend based at Keel Square, Sunderland SR1 3DZ and includes races along the city and seafront with coastal views. Organisers list the course as flat and fast in parts, and the Saturday evening 5K returns to include the new Keel Crossing footbridge. The event has run previously; the first Sunderland City 10km was in 2011 and 5,000 participants took part across distances in 2025.

Entry prices listed for 2026 vary by distance and affiliation: Half Marathon £37-39, 10K £27-29, 5K £15-17, BIG 3K £7.50-12.50. Entries include electronic chip timing, a medal and goody bag for finishers, secure baggage drop and prizes for top three male and female and first V40, V50 and V60.
