Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon - May 2026
The Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and Junior races are organised by RunThrough and presented by Nuun. The event is scheduled for Sunday 3 May 2026 on closed roads in Newcastle and Gateshead, finishing inside Gateshead International Stadium. The stadium is described as an IAAF-standard athletics venue that has hosted Diamond and Golden League meetings and the European Cup, and where five world records have been set on the track. The event is listed as supporting Children North East and the Bubble Foundation.
The road-closed course passes several riverside landmarks in Gateshead and Newcastle, including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, Sage Gateshead, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags and marshals will be positioned along the route. There is a stated six hour cut off due to road closures.
