About the race
The Newcastle-Gateshead event takes place on 2 May 2027 in Gateshead and offers road races of several distances that finish inside Gateshead International Stadium. The course runs on fully closed roads and passes riverside landmarks including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge.

Entries include a unique themed medal, chip-timed results, free race photos, post-race goodies and a secure bag drop. The course has kilometre distance flags and marshals along the route. There is a six hour cut-off in place because of road closures.
Facilities in the event village and stadium include toilets, portable toilets on course, and water stations provided approximately every 5 km. Baggage is stored in the Stadium Sports Hall with collection by race number. Results are published immediately after the race and an official photographer provides free finish line photos.
Minimum age limits are specified for each distance. Spectators are welcome; road closures affect access so spectators are advised to remain in the event village or choose a safe place on the course.
