Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & Juniors
The Newcastle-Gateshead event on Sunday 3 May 2026 offers marathon, half marathon, 10K and junior races on closed roads through Newcastle and Gateshead. The courses pass local landmarks including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music (Sage Gateshead), BALTIC, Tyne Bridge and Swing Bridge, and finish inside Gateshead International Stadium. The finish includes a lap of the stadium track and a finish line on the track.
The event is organised by RunThrough and presented by Nuun, and it supports the Bubble Foundation. Gateshead International Stadium is an IAAF standard venue that has hosted Diamond and Golden League meetings and the European Cup, and five world records have been broken on its track.
Entries include a unique themed medal, chip timed results, post-race goodies and free race photos. Each kilometre on the course is marked with distance flags and marshals provide guidance and course support. A six hour cut off applies due to road closures.
