2026 San Diego 5K - Head for the Cure
The 3rd Annual Head for the Cure 5K - San Diego is a community event focused on raising awareness and supporting the brain cancer community. The event takes place at Mission Bay, specifically at the Tecolote Shores South area. The gathering brings together brain cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, and supporters to celebrate courage and hope while generating clinical research funds.

The event schedule includes several ceremonies and activities beyond the main run. There is a 100 meter dash organized for children. Throughout the morning, various recognition ceremonies take place, including the Courage Award, the Keeping the Faith tribute for survivors, and the Legacy of Love honors for caregivers and supporters. A group photo for brain tumor survivors is also part of the program.
The funds raised through this event benefit the UC San Diego Department of Neurological Surgery, Path to Hope, and various national brain cancer programs and educational initiatives.
