Donut Dash 5K
The Donut Dash 5K is scheduled for October 3, 2026 at Kit Carson Park, El Arroyo Picnic Area in Escondido. The event features a 5K loop course that uses trails, bike path sections, sidewalks and park views, and includes art sculptures along the route. Strollers are allowed on the 5K course. Road or trail shoes are acceptable. Dogs are not permitted.
Race registration includes a finisher medal, a custom event tee, one on-course aid station, official race results and access to a finish line festival with free donuts, games, vendors and refreshments. Event parking is available inside Kit Carson Park. Packet pickup will be offered with one pickup option; details will be announced before the event. Pre-race pickup is optional and someone else may pick up a packet on a participant's behalf.
The Donut Mile is a separate one mile race consisting of four laps on a 1/4 mile loop near the El Arroyo picnic area by the duck pond. Each lap requires the runner to eat and swallow a regular glazed or cake donut before continuing. The Donut Mile is limited to 100 participants, requires separate registration, has a minimum age of 13 and will run in four waves of 25.
A kids dash takes place on a 1/4 mile loop around the finish line festival and includes a kids medal at the finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
