Donut Dash 5K
The Donut Dash 5K is a community running event held on October 3, 2026, at Kit Carson Park, El Arroyo Picnic Area in Escondido (3333 Bear Valley Pkwy). The main race is a 5K loop that runs on about 50% trail and 50% paved sidewalk, with approximately 161 feet of total elevation gain. Most climbing occurs in one section of the course about 1/2 mile long, followed by a downhill and flatter sections. Strollers are approved on the 5K course. Road or trail shoes are acceptable. Dogs are not allowed.
Event registration includes a finisher's medal, one on-course aid station, official race results, and access to a finish line festival with free donuts, games, vendors, and refreshments. Parking is available inside Kit Carson Park. Packet pickup is offered as a single pre-race option at a local retail location; pre-race pickup is not required and someone else may pick up a participant's packet.
Distances and other on-course events:
- 5K loop combining trails and paved sidewalks.
- Donut Mile one mile with four laps and a donut eating requirement.
- Kids Dash 1/4 mile loop around the festival area, includes a kids medal.
The Donut Mile is a separate entry limited to 100 participants, requires eating a donut to start each lap, and has a minimum age of 13. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
