PMASD Carabao 5K - October 4, 2026
The PMASD Carabao 5K takes place in South Bay, San Diego on October 4, 2026. The event features a scenic, flat 5 km (3.11 mile) course with chip timed results, awards for top finishers, and standard participant items including a race tee, collector’s finisher medal, and tote.
A post-race festival brings live entertainment and cultural programming: live bands, Filipino performers, dance performances, DJs, an emcee, and special appearances. A marketplace showcases Filipino food, coffee and treats, local businesses, and community organizations alongside cultural demonstrations.
Health and wellness elements are integrated into the event. Offerings include cardiovascular health education, health screenings, a wellness and recovery area, fitness activities, and yoga. The organizers highlight movement and prevention as part of an overall heart-health message.
The race is organized by the Philippine Medical Association of San Diego, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit of Filipino American physicians and advanced practice providers. The event promotes heart-health awareness noting that cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death and that the Filipino community experiences higher rates of heart disease.
