Pacific Beach Half Marathon & 5K
The Pacific Beach Half Marathon & 5K takes place in Pacific Beach and Mission Bay, San Diego on October 3 and 4, 2026. The event spans two days with separate race distances and an optional challenge that combines both days.
The half marathon is a point-to-point course that starts at Crown Point Park in Mission Bay and finishes on Thomas Ave at the Pacific Beach Boardwalk, following waterfront sections past SeaWorld, Hospitality Point, and Mission Beach. The 5K is held as part of Pacific Beachfest and runs approximately 50% on sand and 50% on boardwalk, with the start and finish on the sand near 700 Thomas Ave. The Kids 1K is cancelled for 2026.
Registration fees listed for the event are $179.99 for the half marathon and $74.99 for the 5K. The Surfside Double Shot Challenge, which awards an exclusive challenge medal to participants who complete both races, is indicated as sold out.
All participants receive event items that include a Pacific Beach tank top, a custom finisher medal, chip timing, free photos, and a complimentary drink ticket. Half marathon finishers also receive custom sunglasses. Overall and age group awards for both men and women are distributed after the event across standard age categories; 5K awards are based on combined wave results and are available for pickup at the event or by mail.
