San Diego 200, October 23–26, 2026
The San Diego 200 is a 200 mile, multi-day endurance run in Escondido, California that circumnavigates San Diego County. The course passes coastal sections, urban corridors, inland trails, mountains, and desert landscapes. Runners must complete the full distance within an 82 hour time limit. The event emphasizes self-reliance and careful planning; participants are responsible for their own crew, logistics, and decision-making throughout the route.
This edition marks the event's rebirth after a hiatus and is organized by individuals who previously completed the original course. Entry is limited to 24 runners for this year. Previous completion of a 200 mile race is highly recommended; applicants who lack that specific experience but have other exceptional accomplishments may be considered. Applicants are placed on a wait list and admitted if they meet the requirements, with slots allocated on a first come basis. All runners are required to have a crew; crews may meet runners anywhere it is safe to do so. The first 100 miles travel through populated areas with opportunities for self support, while the second 100 miles become progressively more rugged with limited water and supply options. Organizers state that all profits will be donated to a Native American charity and that entry fees cover event costs, the event buckle, and the charity donation.
