2026 Head for the Cure 5K - San Antonio
The Head for the Cure 5K - San Antonio returns for its 13th annual edition. This community event serves to raise awareness and funds for brain cancer research and patient programs. The race is held at Providence Catholic School, located at 1215 N St Mary’s St in San Antonio, Texas.
The event features multiple distances and activities for participants:
- 5K run and walk
- 100 Meter Dash for kids
Participants can join as individuals or form teams to assist in fundraising efforts. The course for the 5K follows a route near the school, and a dedicated parking map is provided for attendees. On the morning of the event, there is a scheduled packet pick-up period before the start of the races.
The program includes several community recognitions and ceremonies following the main run. These include the Keeping the Faith recognition for brain tumor survivors, the Legacy of Love award for caregivers or medical professionals, and the Healthcare Hero award. A special photo for brain tumor survivors and a memorial ceremony to celebrate the lives of those who battled brain cancer are also part of the event.
Proceeds from the event provide support to local and national beneficiaries. Local partners include the University Health Foundation, Jaxon’s F.R.O.G. Foundation, and Path to Hope, while additional funds support national brain cancer education and clinical research initiatives. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
