UAB Veterans Day 5K presented by Viva Health
The UAB Veterans Day 5K is a community running event on November 14, 2026 at Railroad Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The event honors those who served and supports military connected students; since 2023 it has granted over $22,000 in emergency funding to those students. Last year more than 1,100 participants and 100 volunteers took part.
Race options include:
- 5K - chip timed; race shirt and finisher medal included
- 5K Virtual - complete the race remotely; shirt and medal mailed within one week
- 5K Kids Free - free for children 12 and under; no shirt or medal included
- 1 Mile Fun Run - untimed, no bib or shirt included by default
All in person 5K entries are professionally chip timed by The Right Time. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top male and female in each age division. Packet pickup is available early on November 12 and 13 at UAB Hill Student Center, Suite 313, and there is onsite pickup on race day.
