UAB Veterans Day 5K, Railroad Park, Birmingham

The UAB Veterans Day 5K is a community running event held on November 14, 2026, at Railroad Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The event honors military service and raises funds to support UAB veteran and dependent students. Since 2023 the event has raised over $33,000 and distributed more than $9,000 in direct relief for student needs such as housing, books, and emergency expenses.

The main distance is a chip timed 5K. All 5K participants receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. The event also offers a virtual 5K option and a relaxed, untimed one mile fun run. The course and operations are designed to accommodate walkers, strollers, and wheelchair participants.

Packet pickup is available in advance at the UAB Hill Student Center, Suite 313, on November 12 and 13, with additional pickup onsite on race day. Volunteer roles include set up, registration, course direction, finish line support, and break down.
