Ruffner Mountain Fall Classic
Ruffner Mountain Fall Classic is a trail running event at Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve - Irondale Ball Fields, 301 Ruffner Rd, Irondale, AL. The event offers three distances:
- 6 Miler: one 6.4 mile loop
- Half Marathon: two 6.4 mile loops
- Full Marathon: four 6.4 mile loops
The course is composed of a 6.4 mile loop used for all distances. Elevation gain is listed by distance: the 6 Miler accumulates about 1,450 ft, the Half Marathon about 2,900 ft, and the Full Marathon about 5,800 ft.
There are two aid stations on course. One aid station is at the Ruffner Mountain Nature Center at approximately 3.5 miles and the second is at the start and finish area at about 6.4 miles. The aid stations are primarily positioned for runners who will begin additional loops for the Half and Full Marathon distances.
Entry capacity for the event is limited to 200 runners. Registration closes Wednesday, November 11 at 11:59 PM CT. Entries completed by October 1 are listed as guaranteeing a race shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
