Overview
The Salute the Troops event is an annual running event held in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. It takes place at Lakeside Park and is in its 14th year. The event raises money for Salute the Troops of Wisconsin and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), with all proceeds staying local to help Wisconsin Veterans and suicide prevention efforts.

The event offers multiple timed and non-timed events:
- Salute the Troops 10K - A timed 10 km run.
- Dobogai Memorial 5K Run/Walk - A timed 5 km run/walk event held in memory of Derek Dobogai, a U.S. Army Lieutenant.
- Kids Run - A fun run for children aged 12 and under.
- Brandon Michael Memorial 10K Ruck March - A non-timed 10 km ruck march honoring Marine Corps Veteran Brandon Michael.
- 5K Ruck - A non-timed 5 km ruck march.
The course is described as wheelchair-friendly, following the prairie trail through and around Lakeside Park. There are also specific race categories for participants using wheelchairs or hand cycles, with separate divisions for 10K Hand Cycle, 10K Racing Chair, 10K Sport/Everyday Chair, 5K Racing Chair, and 5K Sport/Everyday Chair. Each division has its own award categories.
Additional Information
The event's central area is Oven Island within Lakeside Park, where day-of registration and children's activities are located. Participants are invited to contribute to a Memorial Boot Garden by submitting a photo and information about a veteran or serviceman they wish to honor.
