Saltire 24 Ultra Trail Race : Knockburn Sports Loch, Royal Deeside
The Saltire 24 is a lapped endurance trail event at Knockburn Sports Loch in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire. Participants run repeated loops on waymarked multi terrain trails within the Knockburn estate beside Kerloch Hill and Fetteresso Forest. The course lap distance is 4.2 miles.
Race formats include solo entries and relay teams where only one team member runs at a time. Fixed and mobile marshals and medics patrol the course. Electronic chip timing is used for all participants.

Limited camping is available on site and there is access to shower block facilities and the Sports Academy for peripheral support. Headtorches are compulsory for running after dark. Portable toilets at the event are gender neutral and the event states it is LGBTQ plus and non binary friendly; shower areas are labeled male and female and participants are advised to use whichever side they feel comfortable with.
Prizes include locally made eco friendly mementos and sponsor gear. The event notes that determined athletes can complete approximately a 100 mile total by maintaining roughly one 4.2 mile lap per hour over 24 hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
