Alford Bull Running Festival
The Alford Bull Running Festival, supported by RE/MAX Scotland, has expanded from the Mini Bull Run into a full day of races for a wide range of ages. Any profit from the event will be donated to Alford Bull Running Club to fund permanent floodlighting at the Grampian Transport Museum.
Races on the day include the following distances:
- 300 m → 1.2 km age-graded fun runs for preschoolers through 12-year-olds
- 600 m relay loop for teams of one adult and one child aged 12 and under
- 5 km mixed-terrain trail race for runners aged 13 and above
- 10 km certified road race for runners aged 16 and above
Routes start and finish at Haughton House for the mini events and the trail race. The 10 km finishes at Flower Meadow in Haughton Park. The 5 km course uses park trails and quiet country roads and may include uneven ground and tree roots. The 10 km is an officially measured road route on quiet roads; both courses are marshalled and signposted, with water stations on the 10 km route.
Entry is online only. Entry fees are set by event and include a medal and a goody-bag for children in relay teams. There are no on-the-day entries and no refunds. Parking is available at Haughton Park and Alford Village car parks; toilets are at Haughton Park car parks. Refreshments and photography opt-out are handled at registration. Trail surfaces can be uneven, marshals are present and must be followed, and no dogs are permitted on any course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
