The race honors the memory of a brother and leader in the Theta Pi chapter of Alpha Tau Omega at the University of Alabama in Huntsville who was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006 and received treatment at the Clearview Cancer Institute. All proceeds from the race and an accompanying wing festival will directly benefit the Russell Hill Cancer Foundation and the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.
