Sabre XXIII Weekend 9
WEEKEND 9 is an exciting running and hiking event set in the scenic Howgill Fells, featuring a challenging 25.5 km route with an elevation gain of 1500 meters. Originally used by the 23 SAS for training, this event offers participants the chance to experience a historic route while competing in various categories, including loaded, runner/clean fatigue, and unloaded/walker. The event emphasizes self-sufficiency, with checkpoints for safety rather than provisions.
Participants will receive a finisher's patch and can enjoy a celebratory pint at the end. This year marks the fourth edition of this unique and demanding challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
