Event overview

WEEKEND 9 is scheduled for Saturday 23 May 2026 at the Howgill Fells. The event is presented as a Run/TAB/YOMP/Hike Walk over an out-and-back route of about 25 km with approximately 1500 m of total ascent. The route follows the original 23 Special Air Service final test route known as "Weekend 9" and is fully way marked. A GPX file will be available for download.

Categories and course details

Three entry categories are offered: Load bearing (loaded), Runner / Clean Fatigue (unloaded but expected to run some sections), and Walker / Unloaded (walking without load). Loaded competitors must meet minimum weight requirements that vary by age and sex; unloaded competitors must carry mandatory mountain safety kit. Competitors pass staffed checkpoints that are used to check fitness to continue; these are not provided as snack stations. The terrain includes fell land, tracks and footpaths.
