Event Overview
The Ingleborough Mountain Race is a fell race with a history dating back to 1939. It is held as part of Ingleton's annual Gala day.
Course Details
The race covers a distance of 11 km with 600 m of ascent and descent. The route is on public footpaths, and runners may scout the course beforehand. It is categorized as an AM (medium ascent) fell race.
The start and finish is on the sports field next to the Ingleton Community Centre. From there, the route passes through the village, turns onto the Hawes road, and then follows a public footpath to the summit of Ingleborough before returning via the same path.
Practical Information
Registration and race number collection takes place inside the Ingleton Community Centre. There is a participant limit of 250. Entry is available online in advance or on the day if the limit has not been reached. Entry fees are non-refundable. The minimum age for participants is 18.
The event is organized by Settle Harriers and is one of four races in the Yorkshire Dales Classics series; a discount is available for entering all four. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
