Ingleborough Mountain Race
The Ingleborough Mountain Race is a classic category AM fell race held as part of Ingleton's annual Gala day. The course covers about 11 km (6.8 mi) with approximately 600 m (1,968 ft) of ascent. The event has a minimum age limit of 18.
The race starts on the sports field next to Ingleton Community Centre (Grid Ref. 695730), runs through the village main street and along the Hawes road, then turns onto the public footpath that leads up to the summit of Ingleborough (Grid Ref. 742745). Competitors descend by the same route and re-enter the field from the Back Gate car park. Because the route follows a public footpath, competitors may recce the course beforehand.
Registration takes place inside Ingleton Community Centre, adjacent to the Gala field, where race numbers are collected. Entries are accepted online and may also be taken on the day if the race limit of 250 has not been reached. All entry fees are non-refundable.
