Pete Bland 50th Kentmere Horseshoe

The event is a clockwise horseshoe route of the Kentmere Valley, listed as 19.8 km (12.3 miles) with 1006 m (3300 ft) of ascent. The line of the course includes Ill Bell, High Street and Kentmere Pike and is flagged and marshalled from Hallow Bank back to the finish. The venue is Kentmere Village Hall and parking is provided at the Hollingsworth & Vose factory for a small charge. Refreshments are available in the village hall and Pete Bland Sports will have a mobile shop at the race.

The race is run under FRA rules for competition. Minimum kit requirements apply and will be strictly enforced. Competitors must carry waterproof whole body cover, a map and compass suitable for navigation, a whistle, hat and gloves, and emergency food.

Cutoff times apply at two of the three checkpoints. The Ill Bell cutoff is 1 hour 20 minutes and the High Street cutoff is 2 hours 20 minutes; there is no cutoff at Kentmere Pike. Checkpoint marshals will advise runners who miss a cutoff and competitors who reach a checkpoint after the cutoff will be disqualified. The event has a minimum age of 18. Entries open 15 May 2026 and close 18 July 2026. Entry fees listed are £15 for FRA members and £20 for non members. Entries so far total 64 participants.
