The 1066 Triathlon at De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill
The 1066 Triathlon is an event organised by First Stride that takes place on the 1066 coastline with a transition area at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. The race follows routes through local 1066 country and combines sea swim, road bike and promenade run sections.
Swimming takes place from the beaches adjacent to the transition area. Participants complete a clockwise loop of one of three distances:
- 750 m clockwise loop
- 1.5 km clockwise loop
- 1.9 km clockwise loop
Athletes are started in waves according to race distance. Bike courses travel through the Sussex countryside on mainly fast and flat roads with a few short climbs. No aid stations are provided on the bike course.
The run is a pan flat 5 km loop along the promenade. There are two aid stations on the run course that athletes pass on each lap. All finishers receive a medal. Prizes for the top three male and top three female finishers in each event are posted the week following the race.
Race options include sprint, standard and middle distance formats. Entry prices range from GBP 70 to GBP 90. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
