The 1066 Triathlon
The 1066 Triathlon is organised by First Stride and is based at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. The route follows the historic 1066 country, with a sea swim landing on the shores of Bexhill, a transition area at the pavilion, a bike leg through the surrounding countryside, and a run along the promenade.
Swimmers complete a clockwise loop of one of the following distances:
- 750 m
- 1.5 km
- 1.9 km
Athletes start the swim in waves according to their race distance. The bike course runs through Sussex countryside on mainly fast and flat roads with a few kickers. There are no aid stations on the bike course.
The run consists of a 5 km loop along the promenade. The course is pan flat and includes areas where spectators line the route. There are two aid stations on the run course; athletes pass each station on every lap.
Race options listed include Sprint, Standard and Middle Distance. All finishers receive a medal. Prizes for the top three male and top three female finishers in each event are sent out the week following the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
