The 1066 Triathlon
The 1066 Triathlon is a multi-distance event staged on the 1066 coastline and based at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill. The race combines a sea swim, a bike leg through the Sussex countryside and a run along the promenade.
Distances offered include:
- Sprint - 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
- Standard - 1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
- Middle Distance - option available, distances not specified
The swim takes place from the beaches adjacent to transition at the De La Warr Pavilion and follows a clockwise loop of 750m, 1.5km or 1.9km. Athletes are set off in waves according to race distance. The bike course runs through Sussex countryside on mainly fast and flat roads with a few short climbs; there are no aid stations on the bike course. The run uses a 5km pan flat promenade loop with two aid stations on the route that athletes pass on each lap and space for spectators along the course.
Prizes for the top three male and female finishers in each event will be sent the week after the event. All finishers receive a finishers medal. Entrants must be aged 18 or over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
