21st Annual Run/Walk for Autism
The Run/Walk for Autism is an annual community event held in Louisville, Kentucky. Organized by FEAT (Families for Effective Autism Treatment) of Louisville, the event serves to raise funds and awareness for programs supporting individuals with autism and their families. Participants can choose between several in-person distance options at Beckley Creek Parkway or participate virtually.
The available event categories include:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 1 Mile Walk
- Virtual Autism 5K
The 5K Run/Walk and the 1 Mile Walk are open to both adults and children. For the 5K, bibs are provided to participants, though they do not include timing chips. Instead, the race utilizes a self-reporting system where participants upload their own race times. The 1 Mile Walk is a non-timed fun run and walk.
Virtual participants have the flexibility to complete their 5K on a route of their choosing, such as sidewalks, paths, or treadmills. This version also allows for the use of strollers or participation with pets. The event takes place rain or shine, and registration fees include mandatory charges and items. All proceeds benefit FEAT of Louisville's initiatives, including preschool programs, vocational training, and summer camps.
Packet pickup is available on the day before the event as well as on the morning of the races at the event location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
