Event Overview
The Roaring Color Fun Run and Walk returns for its second year in La Grange, Kentucky. Hosted by the Locust Grove PTO, this community event involves participants running or walking through various color zones. The event takes place on March 28, 2026, at Locust Grove Elementary and the surrounding area.
The event features several distance options to accommodate different ages and interests:
- Roaring Color 5K
- Roaring Color 1 Mile
- Little Roar-ers Run
Participation Details
All participants in the 5K receive a cotton t-shirt and a finisher medal, with an option to upgrade to a tech t-shirt during registration. Participants in the 1 Mile event receive a finisher medal, with cotton or tech t-shirts available as add-on purchases. Children in strollers may participate for free but do not receive a bib, shirt, or medal.
The event includes age group awards for the top three male and female finishers. Categories range from kindergarten through high school, and adult brackets from age 20 to 60 and above. Results are announced at a post-race celebration.
Activities and Amenities
Beyond the races, the event serves as a community festival. The grounds feature an expanded family activity area with games, crafts, music, and photo spots. Attendees can access bounce houses and a variety of food trucks offering items such as coffee, donuts, and shaved ice. Local businesses and organizations also host vendor tables on-site.
Packet pick-up is scheduled for the Friday before the race at the tennis court lot of Oldham County High School, with limited pick-up available on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
