St. Patrick's Day Running Event in Louisville
The Loopy Leprechaun is a St. Patrick's Day themed distance event held in Louisville, Kentucky. The race takes place at Cherokee Park, starting from the Hogan's Fountain area on the Scenic Loop. Participants can choose between two distances:
- 5 km (Half Loopy)
- 10 km (Completely Loopy)
The course is a 5 km loop around the park. The 10 km distance consists of completing this loop twice. The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages. Participants are encouraged to wear green, gold, or themed costumes.
The event occurs on a Sunday morning. Awards are provided for the overall male and female finishers, and age group results are recorded. Special awards are also given for the best-dressed participants.
On-site facilities include permanent restrooms and additional portable units near the start line. Packet pick-up is available the day before the race at a local running store or on the morning of the event at the race site. Event t-shirts are available as an optional pre-order add-on during registration. Parking is available near the site; however, carpooling is recommended to conserve space and protect the park grounds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
