Derby City 10K and 5K

The Derby City 10K and 5K take place in downtown Louisville on March 20, 2027. The event is the second leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running presented by the Courier Journal and uses a downtown course that finishes at Louisville Slugger Field.

The route passes several downtown landmarks, including the Kentucky Opera, Jefferson Square Park, the Louisville Slugger Museum, historic Whiskey Row, and Lynn Family Stadium. The course is fully supported with premium aid stations and finisher services.

Registration includes an exclusive wearable swag item, a finisher’s medal, a race bib, finisher photos, snacks, and one complimentary beer for participants 21 and older. A post race party is held outside Louisville Slugger Field.

The event offers a virtual participation option, group registration, volunteer opportunities, and charity support for the WHAS Crusade for Children. It is part of the Louisville Triple Crown series, which offers two series options: the Crown Jewel series and the Coronet series.
