RunSBY Events in Salisbury
The RunSBY Events occur in Maryland and feature multiple road racing distances starting from the Salisbury City Park area. The event offers three distinct distances for participants:
- Salisbury Marathon (26.2 Miles)
- Salisbury Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
- #RunSBY 5k (3.1 Miles)
The Marathon and Half Marathon take place on USATF certified courses that are described as flat. These two distances share the same route for the first 10.8 miles before the courses split. Participants registered for the full marathon have the option to use the 10.8-mile split point as an exit to complete the half marathon distance instead. Both the full and half marathon courses are designated as physically challenged friendly.
The 5k race begins and ends at the Downtown Salisbury Plaza area. This location serves as a communal finish line for all three race distances.
Specific pace requirements are in effect for the longer distances. Participants in the Marathon must maintain a pace allowing for a 7-hour completion time, while those in the Half Marathon have a 3.5-hour time limit. This equates to a 16-minute-per-mile pace requirement.
Packet pickup is held at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on the Thursday and Friday preceding the event. There is no packet pickup available on the day of the races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
