RWJBarnabas Health Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk : 10th Anniversary
The event marks the tenth anniversary of the Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk in West Orange, New Jersey. The live program on November 1, 2026, uses a USATF-certified 5K course that runs down Cherry Lane and around the reservoir at South Mountain Recreation Complex. The live program includes a competitive 5K race and a wellness walk that follows the same certified course; walkers will line up behind runners and all participants begin at the same time.
A virtual option runs from October 1 to November 1, 2026. Virtual participants use the RunGo App, may take part in a timed leaderboard option, or join the Virtual Cumulative Challenge that lets them log activity toward a total of 3.1 miles across multiple sessions. Virtual registrants receive a co-branded item, are eligible for prizes, and receive free zoo admission from November 2 through December 30, 2026.
Additional formats include a members-only 5K skate held at Codey Arena for New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club members and affiliated organizations; fundraising thresholds make players eligible for medals and giveaways.
T-shirts and participation medals are available to early registrants and quantities are limited; T-shirt size requests are not guaranteed. All participants receive a free event photo courtesy of RWJBarnabas Health and the New Jersey Devils. Registered live participants receive free admission to the adjacent Essex County Turtle Back Zoo on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
