RWJBarnabas Health Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk : 10th Anniversary
This event marks the 10th anniversary of the Running with the Devils 5K Run & Walk in West Orange, New Jersey. It includes several participation options on and around Cherry Lane and the South Mountain Recreation Complex reservoir, with post-event activities at the Essex County Turtle Back Zoo adjacent to the course. All registered participants receive free Zoo admission on the day of the live event.
Event formats and features:
- 5K competitive run on a USATF-certified course
- 5K virtual run or walk held between October 1 and November 1, 2026
- 5K skate event at Codey Arena for New Jersey Devils Youth Hockey Club members and affiliated organizations
- Wellness walk on the same USATF-certified course with walkers receiving bibs and lining up behind runners
Registration opens April 2, 2026 and closes April 15, 2026. Standard fees differ by format. T-shirts and participation medals will be distributed to the first 2,000 registered live participants; t-shirt size requests are not guaranteed. Virtual participants have a separate allocation: the first 1,000 virtual registrants receive a co-branded item and all virtual participants are eligible for prizes. Virtual participants may join a cumulative challenge by logging activities to reach a total of 3.1 miles. The RunGo App will provide optional audio messages and virtual participants receive free Zoo admission from November 2 to December 30, 2026.
