The Abbott Dash to the Finish Line 5K is a timed 5 kilometer race held during marathon weekend in Midtown Manhattan, finishing at the TCS New York City Marathon finish line in Central Park. The course runs through Midtown streets and concludes on the marathon finish line, and the event falls on Halloween, with associated costume rules that prohibit face-covering costumes or non-form fitting outfits that extend beyond the body perimeter.
The race is scored, serves as a 9+1 program qualifier, and offers prize money in equal amounts for men women and nonbinary divisions in the NYRR Member Division. Individual prize amounts range from $1,500 for first place to $100 for eighth place. Team prize money is available with specified team sizes and is based on cumulative net time.
Race services include number pickup at the NYRR RUNCENTER at 320 West 57th Street; there is no race morning number pickup. A clear bag policy applies for bag check with a maximum size of 17 inches wide by 20 inches high by 7 inches deep and the race tag affixed. Live unofficial tracking will be available through the NYRR app and official results will be posted after the race.
