Running with the Big Dogs 5k Run and 2 mile Dog Stroll
Running with the Big Dogs is scheduled for September 13, 2026, at 500 Ackerman Drive in Porter, Indiana, and is organized by the Crazy Legs Race Series. The event includes two participant options and takes place in a park setting within the region served by the organizer.

Dogs may accompany participants but must be on a leash no longer than 6 ft and have a current rabies inoculation. Puppies six months old or younger and female dogs in heat are not allowed to participate. Any dog displaying unruly or hazardous behavior will be asked to leave. The organizer recommends consulting a veterinarian about a pet’s health before participating.
All registered human participants receive a cotton t shirt; the design will be posted closer to the event. All dogs that complete the walk or run receive a medal. A course map is available from the organizer. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Humane Indiana.
The Crazy Legs Race Series promotes non pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and manages events in parks and other areas across Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties, presenting varied course design in a low key atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
