Running with the Big Dogs 5k

Event details
Running with the Big Dogs is a combined run and dog-friendly stroll held in Porter, Indiana, on September 13, 2026, at 500 Ackerman Drive. The event offers two course options:
- 5k Run
- 2-mile Dog Stroll
All registered participants receive a cotton t-shirt; the design will be posted closer to the event. All dogs that complete the walk or run receive a medal. A course map is available online.
Rules and fees
Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 ft at all times. All dogs must have a current rabies inoculation. Puppies six months of age or younger, or female dogs in any stage of heat, are not allowed to participate. Dogs judged to be unruly or hazardous to others will be asked to leave. Participants are urged to consult with a veterinarian about their pet’s suitability for the event. Part of the event proceeds will be donated to Humane Indiana.
