Event overview
The Running with the Big Dogs event takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 500 Ackerman Drive, Porter, IN 46304. The event offers both a run and a dog-friendly stroll and provides a course map. All dogs that complete the walk or run receive a medal. Registered participants receive a cotton t-shirt; the design will be posted as the race approaches. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Humane Indiana.

Entry, fees and rules

Dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 ft and must have current rabies inoculation. Puppies six months of age or younger and female dogs in any stage of heat are not allowed to participate. Dogs showing unruly or hazardous behavior may be asked to leave. Participants are urged to consult a veterinarian about their pet’s health before registering.
