About the race
Run for Hope is a community 5K event held on September 12, 2026, at Nelson Park in Trail Creek, Indiana (intersection of Edgemoor Dr and Whipporwill Ave). The event is hosted by the Friends of Swanson Center and supports suicide awareness and mental health efforts in LaPorte County.
The event features a 5K Run/Walk for Hope and welcomes runners, walkers, families, friends, and supporters of all ages. T & H Timing is listed as the official timing company for the event.
Registration opens May 31, 2026, and closes September 12, 2026. The registration fee is $40.00. Registrations completed by August 25, 2026, are guaranteed a commemorative event T shirt and finisher medal.
Early packet pick up is available the day before the race at Swanson Center Michigan City, located at 7224 W 400 N, Michigan City, IN 46360; the pick up area is the back pavilion behind the main building. Race packets will also be available the morning of the event at registration tables.
Since 1969, Swanson Center has provided mental and behavioral health services to individuals and families in LaPorte County. Run for Hope is organized to support that mission while encouraging open conversations about mental health and wellness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
