Popcorn Panic 5M Run & 5K Run/Walk - Valparaiso, IN
The Popcorn Panic is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Valparaiso, Indiana. The event is a long-running community road race held on city streets and draws more than 1,200 participants annually. It offers two distance options:
- 5 Miles
- 5K Run/Walk
Participants may enter as individuals or form teams. Teams must have at least four finishers to be eligible for the team award; the team winner is determined by computer analysis of the overall place of the top four team members. Team members remain eligible for individual awards.
Registration details include a deadline to guarantee shirt sizes on August 14 and a no shirt option that saves five dollars. Fees increase in mid-August and same-day registration is listed at forty five dollars.
Packet pick-up is available at multiple times and locations: pre-race pickup on Wednesday September 9 and Thursday September 10 at Extra Mile Fitness Company, 3400 Calumet Ave; pre-race pickup on Friday September 11 at Butterfield Pavilion from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm; and onsite pickup race morning beginning at 6:30 am. Early registration and early packet pickup are encouraged.
Awards for the 5-mile event include crowned male and female champions who will ride in the Popcorn Fest Parade and receive other recognition.
