Running Scared 5K/13K - Colorado Springs
The Running Scared event takes place on October 18, 2026 at Cottonwood Creek Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It offers in-person and virtual race options and multiple distances.

In-person participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt and a custom finisher medal. The Deadly Double requires completing the 5K and then returning within 30 minutes to start the 13K for an 18K total; Deadly Double finishers receive a special finisher medal in addition to the race shirt.
Awards are given to the Top Three male and female overall finishers in the 5K and 13K. Additional overall awards are presented for Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Masters categories. Age-group awards are given to the top three finishers in traditional five-year age groups for both distances. Deadly Double finishers receive separate top-three recognition for male and female finishers.
Virtual options mirror the in-person distances, allow participants to run where and when they choose, and include mailed race swag. Virtual race shipping is limited to the Continental US. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
