Running of the Bulls 5k - Valrico
The Running of the Bulls 5k is an annual community event held at Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida on January 23, 2027. The event includes a timed 5K that starts and finishes on the school track and uses the paved roads and sidewalks across the campus. A separate untimed 1/2 mile fun run or walk takes place on the track.
Participants in the 5K receive a race shirt, a bib, a sponsor goodie bag, and a finisher medal. The half mile participants receive a medal only and do not receive a shirt or bib. Strollers are permitted on the 5K course, noting that runners will encounter curbs and sidewalks.
The event supports Bloomingdale High School programs, including the Bloomingdale Rajun' Bull Band, and funds two scholarships for graduating seniors. No dogs are allowed on campus during the event. Motor vehicle traffic is not allowed on the campus roads for safety, and volunteers will be stationed at gates to assist in case of emergency. Packet pickup information will be provided closer to the event date.
