About the race
The Running of the Bulls 5k is an event held at Bloomingdale High School in Valrico, Florida, consisting of a timed 5K on school pavement and an untimed half mile on the track. The 5K starts and finishes on the high school track and uses the paved roads and sidewalks across the campus. The half mile is a fun run/walk held entirely on the track.
Participants in the 5K receive a race shirt, a bib, a sponsor goodie bag, and a finisher medal. Half mile participants receive a medal but do not receive a shirt or bib. Strollers are allowed on the 5K course; the route includes curbs and sidewalks.
Vehicle traffic is not permitted on the school grounds during the event and volunteers will be positioned at campus gates for safety and emergency access. Dogs are not allowed on campus during the event. Packet pickup information will be provided closer to the event date.
The event supports Bloomingdale High School students by sponsoring the Bloomingdale Rajun' Bull Band and by funding two scholarships for graduating seniors.
