Running of the Bears 5K - Lincoln, NH
The Running of the Bears is a community 5 km (3.1 mile) race held inside Clark's Bears in Lincoln, New Hampshire. Each runner or walker must bring a teddy bear to qualify; teddy bears will be available for purchase on the morning of the event. The start and finish are located at Merlin's Mystical Mansion inside the park.
The course follows roads and park pathways north from Merlin's Mystical Mansion past the Anaconda Escape, along Connector Road and Main Street near Lin-Wood Public Schools, through school parking areas and the bus route, and returns into Clark's parking lot and the park gate. Volunteers wearing yellow vests will direct participants along the route. There is one water station on course.
Check-in takes place at the park Railroad Station with bibs, complimentary T-shirts, and tote bags distributed at the picnic pavilion. Parking is available in the North End Parking Lot at Clark's Bears. Restrooms are located inside the park at the Anaconda Escape and at the Riverbank Restrooms.
Awards include trophies for the top three male and top three female finishers, medals for the top male and female in each age category, and additional fun awards such as largest bear and best bear costume. All proceeds will be donated to the Linwood Ambulance Service, a not-for-profit emergency medical service organization serving Lincoln and Woodstock, New Hampshire.
