Runamuck 50k, South Pomfret, VT
Runamuck is a 50K ultramarathon held at the Saskadena Six ski area in South Pomfret, Vermont. The course covers approximately 27 miles of mostly hilly dirt roads, with about 4 miles on pavement. Total elevation gain is 3,726 vertical feet.
The route starts and finishes at the ski area and moves over forested backroads with rolling hills, steeper pitches, and constant undulation. Because the course is almost entirely on dirt roads, footing can change with the weather; mud, puddles, and soft ground are possible.
Support on course includes two fully stocked aid stations located roughly at miles 12 and 23, plus an additional water stop near mile 6 that supplies orange and banana slices. Aid stations provide water and a variety of snacks typical for trail events.
The event has an 8 hour cutoff for the 50K. The 2026 edition returns to Saskadena Six after a two-year hiatus. Registration for the listed event closes on Fri, Apr 10 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
