Zack's Place Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
The Zack's Place Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day 5K run and walk held in Woodstock, Vermont, that supports the operational costs of Zack's Place. The event offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual option that can be completed anywhere.
The in-person course starts and finishes at Woodstock Elementary School, 15 South Street, and follows a route through the historic Village of Woodstock, toward Billings Farm, around Mountain Avenue, and back around the Town Green. An award ceremony with refreshments and live music follows the race, and medals are presented. Packet pickup is available on November 26 at Woodstock Elementary School between 3:00 and 5:00 PM.
Registration opens January 28, 2026, and closes November 25, 2026. The registration fee is $35. The event organizers note that pets are not permitted due to prior issues and that parking is limited near the Village Green; suggested parking locations are provided by the organizers.
The Turkey Trot began in 2007 as a fundraiser and has grown into an annual community event. People participate as families, walkers with young children, and satellite runners who join virtually from other states and countries.
