Event details
Run in the New Year is a distance running event on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in Belmont Shores, Long Beach, CA (Long Beach path at 5400 E. Ocean Blvd). The event will proceed rain or shine. Check-in is at the tables closest to 54th Place, at the start of the beach path. Parking is free in the residential area; paid beach parking is available via ticket machine.
Distances and course
- 5k - out-and-back route
- 10k - two 5k loops
- 15k - three 5k loops
- Half marathon - three 4.36-mile loops
The course uses marked out-and-back loops on the beach path. An aid station at the turnaround/start/finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels.
Registration and race services
Registration is offered via PayPal or Active.com; PayPal registrants receive an email within 12 hours to finalize registration. Race day registration accepts cash, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal with fees listed for each distance. Transfers are handled by email request; there is a no-refund policy. Included with registration are custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, posted results within 12-24 hours, and an assortment of snacks and samples.
