Event overview
The Rabbit Run 5k & OC Challenge Wild Hare 5k is scheduled for April 4, 2026 in Irvine, CA. The event includes multiple running options and a children’s fun run. Distances offered:
- 5K Rabbit Run
 - 5K OC Challenge
 - Combo entry for both 5Ks
 - 200 yards, 400 yards, and 1/2 mile Bunny Dash for children
 
Participants who complete the Rabbit Run receive a finisher medal and an Easter prize bag. Combo entrants receive two finisher medals and one event shirt. Race timing for the 5K events is provided by a chip-timing company.
Course, logistics and awards
The course is an out-and-back on a landscaped running path. Runners will share the route with cyclists, other runners, and dog walkers; those pushing strollers are asked to stay to the right. Restrooms are available inside nearby school buildings. Parking is listed at Jeffrey Trail Middle School.
The OC Challenge 5K includes age-division awards, with age groups organized in five-year spans and awards three deep, plus overall top-three trophies for the OC Challenge only. All participants receive a race T-shirt, water on course, and a large custom finisher medal. Proceeds support formation of a charitable foundation and a working ranch program that serves troubled youth; funds will also support equipment repair for accessibility and future outreach events.
