Run Wild 5K
The Run Wild 5K is a sporting event held at the Orange County Zoo within Irvine Regional Park in Orange, California. This event serves as a fundraiser for the OC Zoo Foundation, supporting the care of animals and plants native to the southwestern United States. Many of the resident animals at the zoo are injured, orphaned, or otherwise unable to be released back into the wild.
The course utilizes the zoo grounds, providing a route where participants move past exhibits featuring diverse wildlife. Observed animals at the location include black bears, mountain lions, bald eagles, kit foxes, ocelots, beavers, great horned owls, porcupines, coyotes, and turkey vultures. The facility also maintains a barnyard area with domestic goats and sheep.
Participants receive complimentary entry into the Orange County Zoo following the conclusion of the event. The following distances are available:
