About the race
Explore Worldwide Western Sydney Lakes Marathon takes place at the Sydney International Regatta Centre on 21 November 2026. The event is set around Competition Lake and the Western Sydney Lakes and offers a mix of paved sections and trail on the longer courses.
Available race distances include:
- 42.2 km marathon
- 21.1 km half marathon
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- 2 km fun run
The 10 km, 5 km and 2 km courses are described as fast and flat. Aid stations on course will provide water, electrolytes, cola and lollies; the marathon, half marathon, 10 km and 5 km have specified numbers of aid station passes. Medical support, professional electronic timing, event photography, and post-event snacks are provided. Finisher medals are awarded to all finishers; podium medals are presented for age-category places in all distances except the 2 km. Marathon and half marathon entries include an event souvenir item.
Event logistics noted in the information include on-site parking within the Regatta Centre, a bag drop at the Event Hub, toilet facilities near the baggage area, and reusable BibSNAPs to reduce single-use waste. Dogs are not permitted; wheelchairs are not permitted in the marathon and half marathon; prams are permitted in the 2 km and 5 km (starting from the back).
