Run Turkey Run Thanksgiving Day 5K
Run Turkey Run is an annual Thanksgiving 5K held in Hamden, Connecticut, organized by Team Mossman Events with Multisports Academy as the event base. The event invites runners and walkers to participate in a community-focused race that traditionally includes festive costumes and family participation.
The course is an out and back on the Farmington Canal Trail with no street crossings. A water stop is provided just before the turnaround. Awards are given to overall finishers by gender and non-binary category, and to age group finishers with age calculated on race day; age groups include 12 and under, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79, and 80 plus.
Event logistics note that parking is available at Multisports Academy and packet pickup is offered the evening before and the morning of the race, with same day registration available at packet pickup. Registration includes race entry, chip timing, race day parking, and an event T-shirt. Shirt availability depends on registration timing because the printer requires the shirt order about ten days before race day.
A portion of the event proceeds benefits Hamden Community Services, supporting community food and resource distribution programs, youth and community programs, and essential emergency and financial assistance programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
