Run the Wild Half Marathon
The Run the Wild Half Marathon is a guided trail event in the Chiltern Hills covering about 13 miles (21.1 km) with an ascent of around 300 m. The event lasts half a day and follows undulating chalk hills and local woods. English Athletics qualified Run Leaders lead groups and provide trail technique instruction. The route includes a checkpoint and a well stocked refreshment point just over halfway, and participants receive a finisher’s medal.
Logistics and participation
The event starts from The Home Office in Tring. Tring train station is a 10-minute walk and there is free on-site parking. Facilities at the venue include toilets, a cafe, bag drop and a checkpoint. The event is dog friendly if participants use cani-cross equipment. Runners are grouped by ability; organisers walk steep sections and include instruction during the run. Entry for the Spring edition is listed at £55 for an individual ticket and there are 50 spaces. Participants should be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less.
