Event Overview
Run the River takes place on July 31, 2026, in Downtown Midland, Michigan. The event is held at Ashman Street and is integrated into the Midland River Days Festival. Participants can choose from several event options:
- 1 Mile Run
- 5K Run (separated into male and female waves)
- 5K Walk
The race is held rain or shine. It serves as the second event in the Midland Triple Challenge, which also includes the Dow RunWalk and the Loons Pennant Race. Participants in the walk and run events receive a stein and a complimentary drink ticket for the Rotary Tent.
The festival atmosphere features various activities surrounding the race, including live music, local food vendors, and hot air balloons. Packet pick-up is located at the Tridge. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, with tiered pricing based on the date of entry. Day-of registration is available until the designated closing time in the early evening.
